This roof was just redone in 2017, and because of the mistakes of the installer, it needed redone again.
For starters, not having a downspout connecting your upper and lower roof is a surefire way to degrade the shingles on the first story roof. Secondly, there was not a row of ice guard on the eaves, and you can probably guess where all of the rot was.
Tear off was quick. Rot repair took some time because of how extensive it was, but it was doable. After that, Ice guard, synthetic felt and shingle installation! The gutter had to be rehung on the front, and all of the soffit and fascia was redone as well. A quick job that shouldn’t have needed done for at least another 10 years! I installed Owens Corning Trudefinition Duration, Onyx Black on this roof.
