This home was in desperate need of me help…
The deck out fronted was installed properly, and caused all of the sheeting and most of the perimeter board to rot out. Over half of the windows had been installed incorrectly and were leaking. Suffice to say, the homeowners were ready for a new look.
We started off by repairing all of the rot, and covering the sheathing in house wrap. This is essential for siding. It helps remove drafts from getting in cracks, and also acts as a barrier for water underneath the siding.
I replaced the window with Jeld-Wen windows, which come with a Lifetime Warranty. I almost exclusively install this brand, and they are the best combination of quality and price. I built out and wrapped the trim in white aluminum.
After that I replaced all of the trim with Sell-Even aluminum products. These products have the paint baked on at the factory, which makes them more resistant to scratches, and does not require painting ever. Maintenance free was the idea behind this entire job.
Next, I started installing my siding! I only use premium Timbercrest Double D4 siding – Manor color. This siding is 15% thicker than its cheaper counterpart, and that helps cover any discrepancies in the sheeting behind it.
On top of all of this, the homeowner’s also decided to replace all of the doors in the home. This created an amazing clean finish.
To date, this has been my favorite job to do. I love taking a home exterior that is in disrepair, and making it look like a brand new house!
